9/15/06 One of my main goals during my tenure here at the Arboretum is to upgrade some our collections. We are a 66 acre Arboretum & Botanical Garden, but horticulturally speaking we are not at diverse as I would like. We do an awesome job with color, bulbs, and annuals, but have few rare woodies or trees. Luckily I have lots of people in the industry who love what we are doing here and are extremely generous in donating plants. If there is any legacy I leave at the Arboretum it will be all the small saplings, shrubs, bulbs and perennials that will be tucked into corners and across the grounds. I've made lists to the left of some of our larger collections and also a list of Miscellaneous items we've planted out! |
